We travel out of Ho Chi Minh city to visit the famous Vietcong tunnels at Cu Chi. This incredible system, covering nearly 250km, was shelter ot over 16,000 communist guerillas during the war. We gain insight into the tenacity of these soldiers and have the opportunity to go inside the tunnels.

TRIP SUMMARY

We drive 70kms Northwest of Ho Chi Minh city to visit Cu Chi tunnels. Before entering the tunnels, we watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. Also on displaying are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels to see the first hand how the Vietcong communists were able to survive in this underground network. We then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
